The September 2nd 2012 running of the Port Huron Yacht Club/Sarnia Yacht Club Leukemia Cup Regatta in Lake Huron.
This is the first running of the Boothbay Harbor Rendezvous. This is a very fun and family orientated event to be held annually to benifit the newly formed shipyard Community Sailing Center. With light hearted attitude of the race organizers and the professional organization of “Regatta Promotions” this will be an event to keep on your calender. Some of the video is a bit shakey but considering I had the wheel in one hand, camera in the other, one eye on the shot and the other on boat traffic and lobster bouys I think it came out pretty well.
Day 2 of the Charlotte Harbor Leukemia Cup Regatta consited of all boats in one reverse start fleet. In these races each boat’s handicap is figured into the start time giving each boat a time delay to start after the slowest rated boat. In theory all boats would finish at about the same time. This works very well for boats to get a clear, safe start and makes for some very exciting last mark roundings and finishes as you will see in the video.
Day 1 of the Charlotte Harbor Leukemia Cup hosted by the Isles Yacht Club of Punta Gorda Florida saw some great challenges and a few clear leaders.
